Being part of a sport society for 4 years, I know how much joining a society made my time at Derby Uni so much better. My experience as a committee member for three years and running a large sports society has been challenging at times, but seeing the in and out of a club I believe as your VP Activities I can make a massive difference to societys: helping to boost memberships, improving relations between societys and ultimatley help make your life easier as both committee members and members in general.
I have three BIG aims if i was to be your VP activities.
Improve overall membership numbers: I feel freshers really don't understand the benefits of joining a society and I always say to new people going to Uni that joining a society is the best thing you can do and will transform your uni life. Lets not wait until freshers fair to be heard!
Improve relations between societys: Blorange wednesday has been so good this year! However, this focuses on Sport alot. So i want to bring sports day to Derby the old fashioned way, so that societys can get involved. Get you Egg and Spoon ready!
