My name is Taye Martha Shalewa Adekanbi. I am currently co-representing the PGR students for the University of Derby and also for PGR students in the college of Business, Law and Social Sciences and I having been representing for over a year and til present. I am well experienced in the role of representing the body of students and understand the need of having one voice be heard. I nominated myself for this role because I wish to create a communication line where all PGR students can be able to meet and know other PGR students and are able to easily convey their complaints and feedback that they wish for the University to be knowledgeable about and take action on. I have tried in the limited ways provided to create a communication line to all PGR students without going against the privacy issue by using the PGR URKEO platform to send an email to all students but this was to no avail. This is a grave issue because I have been met my various PGR students who make complaints and try to pass on their feedback for the University to work on. I do my best and try to resolve this issue but this shows there may be more PGR students who have complaints and wish to be heard . We know doing a PhD is full of its own struggles, having to resolve one issue, even as little, is enough to create an ease in the journey. I aim to use this position for this. Please join hands with me and help me so we can create a platform that can help preceding, present and future PGR students to come, so they will not experience this same problem we are having today.
