Mr/ Me Chairman, Current SRC Executives, Colleague Aspirants, Students of Derby University
My name is Pieter van Ellewee, a first year PGIE student.I am from South Africa and currently residing in Beijing China I am standing for the International Students officer and I’d like to explain to you why I think I would be a good International Students officer for our SRC. The SRC has been mandated by the Derby University Student body to undertake representation in all spheres of student governance. This mean all interaction between the Student Representative Council and the administration should have the students’ best interest at the core of it all and as an online learner there need to be a channel for the students and the university. My vision is to improve efficiency and transparency of the SRC.As i am an International Student and want to represent that. What do I mean? like being the person who lays down the plan towards an objective, who makes the key and critical decisions that change the system on the ground, also make sure that we as international students get involved with projects and make sure that their is a collaboration between all the international students
Mr. Chairman, I’m really passionate about record keeping and the society in which we live in, that is the University. I’ve loved getting involved in everything that goes on in and around the University. I’d like to contribute all I can to carry on giving the great service we’ve had. As an online student i want to represent my peers and be a spokesman for them and assist them with challenges and oppurtunities they may face
I’m a good team player and who is able to make important contributions to his group or team. And I also work very well under little or no supervision. I’d be really keen to build good relationships with other executives of the SRC and continue to make the SRC the best it can be.
If elected into office, I will make sure that I promote the SRC as a whole in order to make it more inclusive and enhance everyone’s experience as a student in Derby University. My administration will be approachable and open to all suggestions and comments by all. I will make sure that with all the changes coming will ensure to your wellbeing staying in perspective.
In my term of office, I would seek to find solutions to problems voiced by you – in every sphere. We might not be able to change the system over night, but I will at least strive to influence the system towards satisfying student needs.
Make me your choice as for SRC, because I understand how much your opinion matters. Because behind that opinion is a student that demands representation and behind that representation should be one unified SRC.
