I’ve had the Pleasure of being your kit manager for the better part of the past year, I will again be nominating myself for this role for the coming academic year, I feel that having a year to get to know and understand our equipment needs as a team will allow me to provide the best systems and advice to committee in regards to our kit needs.
A bit about myself, I’m a music production student as some of you will know; half of my academic life is spent creating music and the other is learning how to operate, sort and organise equipment for live events, studio spaces and to overcome the short comings of locations and create systems that work well for me and the other musicians around me. You do not want to know the horrors of cable management and laying for just 1 gig. I have worked as a lifeguard on and off since I was 16, taking it upon myself to reorganise and create an inventory for 2 multi-million-pound leisure facilities. It’s safe to say I somewhat enjoy organisation and the management of equipment.
My goals are very similar to the start of the year
- As kit manager I want to continue improving upon the systems of organisation and equipment tracking that have already been put in place by starting a signing out process where as a player you have to sign out what equipment you have
- To Fix all the equipment I can from this years season
- To get more game and practice balls so we aren’t so reliant on players personal leather balls
- To make sure we have all of the equipment necessary to maintain our equipment for example getting a Wilson ball care set, having an inverted of spare bolts and screws that can be kept with put away kit to fix things on the fly, to get both a helmet and ball pump
- To work along side our union suppliers to provide the best training and game day kit possible
