I am applying for the role of 4th team manager because I want to help the club to continue its success that we as a 4th team have had so far. I also think it would be a good challenge for me and gives me valuable experience. I am a good match for this role as I have experience of managing teams before, albeit in a different sport (under 15s cricket), but the same principles still apply. Furthermore, I have played a part in the 4th teams title challenge this season, where we have gone from strength to strength since the new year.
For next year, I would be looking at implementing similar concepts that the 4th team applied which helped us turn the season around, such as having 2 training sessions a week instead of 1, ensuring our fitness levels are high, right from the start of the season, which was something some of the lads mentioned was part of the issue at the start of the year, and creating quality, testing and fun training sessions for the team, adapting as the season goes on.
This year was my first year in football and many times I have showed commitment. I am always on time for training, which is aided by me having a car - another reason I am suited to the role as my car allows me to take kit to and from training easily. I also have missed very few training sessions and only one 4th team match, which was all communicated to the relevant people in good time, showing that I can be organised, which is important for this role for things such as planning sessions and sending out messages for availability. Additionally, I am heavily involved in the social side of the club, only missing one or two Wednesday socials, and this is something I, and a lot of others at the club, regard as a significant sector of the club and something I would encourage my teammates to engage in.
Overall, the 4th team manager is something I believe I am really suited to, with the experience in coaching, the time spent playing in the team this year and my commitment to the club in the playing and also the social side of the club.
