Hello, I'm Charlotte, a second year Joint Honours History and Education Studies student. I have been doing pole since September, as I always wanted to try something new at uni and have since fell in love with the sport.
As secretary I undertsand the need to work closely with your president (good luck to all candidates), to ensure that activities run smoothly and information is conveyed to you in a timely manner.
I am an approachable person, and would make myself available for you to contact, unless I am asleep in the ticket Office of a vintage fair ride which became a bit of a common occurrence during the summers pre-covid. But other than that I plan to be active with emails and day-to-day admin duties. Thus meaning that the committee and you will have my confidence and support within our pole sessions and future events, such as Chrome and I would like for us to plan more showcases.
I also hope that we can fundraise to be able to purchase more poles for us all to use, which will enable us to get more pole time during the sessions.
Outside of our pole classes I would also like to advocate for us to have non-drinking socials, as well as us going to Mucky Duck, so then those of us that have 9am Thursday mornings are able to feel involved with the team but get a good night sleep for their academic responsibilities, for this to work I plan on working closely with our social secretary (good luck guys).
This year I have been a student rep for Education and have responded and passed on student feedback promptly, which has helped me prepare for this role. This opportunity has allowed me to exercise my communication skills in both a verbal and nonverbal manner, in formal and informal environments. I think that this quality is key to the role of a secratary and will help me with the role if eleceted.
Please vote for me as I am an approachable, friendly person, up for a good chat with anyone... not just my cows and sheep.
Most of all I am willing to take my role as secreatary seriously and work proactively with you all.
