Charlotte Baines

Hello, for those of you who do not know me I'm Charlotte, a second year Joint Honours History and Education Studies student.

I have been doing pole since September. I joined our pole fitness group becasue I wanted to try something new at uni that was going to be out of my comfort zone, as I am a country bumkin used to being on a farm or a footplate of a steam engine. I fell in love with the sport and the community that we have as a group... so changed my wellies and overalls for a pair of pole shorts.

As VP I undertsand that it is important to work closley with all other committee members and as a well rounded, organised indiidual I feel like I am suiting for the role. I am used to balancing a work load, evident through the fact that I am a Joint Honours student, this requires me to balance the demands of both the subjects, which I think is a beneficial skill for a VP to have.

If you vote for me for your VP I want to ensure that we never lose our high spirited inclusive atmosphere at pole. I may not be a bendy pole pro, but I try to give everything a go and have a laugh in the process. I enjoy working as a team with others, which is why I love doing group routines for showcases and competitions.

As VP I would work closely with your president (good luck all) to ensure that we continue to have showcases, to present to our student community what we're all capable of doing, whilst raising money for some good causes. I think that these events place emphasis on team-bonding and fun pole moves, whilst emphasising the social aspect of the sport, all points I want to advocate for.

I also hope that we can fundraise to be able to purchases more poles for us all to use, which will enable us to get more pole time during the sessions. This will help us all to advance techically with our pole moves.

If elected I plan to work closely with your social secretary (good luck to all those nominated) to promoto non-drinking socials as well as the classic Wednesday nights out. This is to allow for those non-drinkers and those with early Thursday morning lectures to immerse themselves in the group outings with the team. This will help us to become stronger as a unit and develop our team-work and communication skills.

I am an organised, approachable person who would love to represent you as part of the pole fitness committee.

VOTE FOR ME!
