I’m Jen and I’m running for charity officer. I’m 20 and am a first year studying primary education. I’m from Solihull, which is just outside Birmingham. You’ll always catch me with a gin on a Wednesday and my favourite social would have to be British icons even if I didn’t get into pop world.  I would like to be your charity officer as I want to continue the amazing work being done currently and introduce new charities that mean something to us. Supporting them by holding different events and activities which I have loved taking part in this year.

I like to think of myself as friendly and confident which would allow me to build good relationships with charities and continue those we have already built up. I am a good communicator and don’t shy away from a problem and like to have a lot of fun which I think would transfer into our fundraisers.

I have a real passion for supporting different charities and have found taking part in the many events this year very rewarding and believe I would do the most I can next year for all the charities we support. I am very organised and have planned successful fundraising events in the past, therefore I believe I would perform the role well.

I am hoping to continue the support of charities we have recently worked with as I would love to continue fundraising for them as I know many of them mean something to a lot of us. There are also many charities I would like to look at working with next year. Four that I would be extremely interested in are Zarach, The Brain Tumor charity, Cancer Research and the Children’s Air Ambulance. Zarach is a charity supporting bed poverty, their aim is to provide beds to families who may not be able to afford them, so children are able to get a good night’s sleep, ready for school. The Brain Tumor charity and Cancer Research are two very close to my heart that I believe we could raise some really good money for, and the Children’s Air Ambulance saves lives everyday ensuring children get the opportunity to see their future.

I would also love to hear from you, our members, about charities you would like to support.

I have lots of ideas for fundraising events, some which we have already seen be a huge success this year that I would like to take place again and some new ideas such as a game night, bingo, and a charity netball tournament.

I hope you’ll consider me for the role of charity officer for our club!
