Hi, my name is Abbey and I am currently in my second year studying the LLB. I have been a member of the Law Society for the last two years, and I am eager to get involved at committee level, and take the society to the next level!

As Vice President, I will:

  • Encourage the society to have a greater presence in every day university life and within the university itself.
I think that it is vital for our society to look after each other, as the members, in every way possible. I feel as though we need to have a greater presence, especially at OFGS, and really make the most out of university life!

  • Organise at least one social event each month, including themed seasonal events.
We will have different monthly socials to cater to different indivduals' needs. There will be at least one event each month, but I have big plans for there to be many more! Furthermore, I want to be a part of the organisation of the Annual Law Ball and I want to push the idea of introducing a Winter Formal.
Alongside monthly events, the events calendar will be constantly updated to ensure that you are provided with all the needed information.

  • Coordinate charitable fundraisers throughout the year.
The charities will be chosen by the members and we will work together to raise funds for organisations through a range of events.

  • Create wellbeing parcels for society members, readily available for them, especially around exam seasons.
We all know how difficult exam season can be, so hopefully these little boosts will be welcomed! Alongside this, I want to work with the society to encourage open channels of communication, networking, and a postitive atmosphere.

Thank you for taking the time to read my vision for the next academic year. I really appreciate it!
