Hey, I’m Faye, and I’m currently in my first year studying Psychology. While I’m new to how societies are run and organised, I have tried to get stuck in as much as possible to learn. Whether it is doing the showcases or going to lots of the socials. Next years committee will be all new so by incorporating what I have seen done by the Social Sec now, I can keep socials entertaining and fun.
If voted I would love to organise drinking socials, sober ones, and socials that it doesn’t matter if you drink or not. I think getting everyone’s input into what type of socials people would like would be beneficial to make sure I am planning things that would get as many people involved as possible. My main goal would be making sure that returning or new members of pole feel included, like organising classic nights to remember (hopefully without the hangover), laser quest, pub quizzes and so much more. I also love the idea of themed nights, but I can understand that sometimes make you have to go out and buy stuff and especially on a student budget that can be annoying. I want to have nights out where the theme is simple but effective, like having a decade’s party or top Spotify artist (or whatever streaming site you use).
A big importance for me about being a Social Sec, is making sure that everyone feels safe when out or even in the sessions. This includes ensuring that everyone gets home safe on a night out and no one leaves without anyone else knowing even in a group.
I will always be happy to answer any questions you have on upcoming socials in sessions (apart from maybe if I am inverting ;)) or dropping me a message. My first year in Pole Fitness has been amazing and as Social Sec I can create an even better experience for others.
