Candidate for the position of Football Men's - Club Captain

Alex Lofts

I believe I would be a good fit for the role of club captain on the committee. This is because over the last few years before I came to Derby university, I was captain of the teams I played for back in Norwich. The greatest achievement was when I was captain in a FA youth cup game towards the end of 2020. Now I am at university, I am currently vice-captain of the 4ths team as a fresher and hope that next year I can progress to be a bigger face of the club. Being a part of the committee will give me a good understanding of the roles and tasks that are needed to complete during the year which I would want to take into my final year of applying into the committee again.

Furthermore, I believe that I have been a good part of the club within my first year. I have made sure I have attended all training sessions throughout the season as well as playing in every game of the season apart from two where I was injured. Most of the games I have played this season have been for the 4th team but, towards the end of this season I have made appearances for both the 2nd and the 3rd team. In addition, as well as playing football for UODMFC, I have made sure I have attended the socials that take place every Wednesday, the last one I missed was in October showing that I am committed to all aspects the club has to offer. From this, I feel like I have been able to make mates with everyone at the club over my first year and hope this will continue throughout the rest of my time at university.
