Hiya guys. I'm running for men's captain again...
About me:
I'm in my second year of International Business, and I've been playing lax for two and a half years now. I was voted men's captain for this year, and thanks to the boys, we went on to have our best finish in the league, ending undefeated. Lacrosse has become a massive part of my life, and I hope to continue captaining Derby Men's unbeaten run.
Why Me?
Sports Stuff
-
I've captained a variety of teams in the past and I know what it takes to create a positive environment around a team, which encourages players to push themselves to achieve on an individual level as well as on a team scale.
-
I've played a wide range of sports and understand transferable tactics and training sessions that can have a positive influence on a lacrosse team.
-
I am the current ULO and have worked closely with representatives of England Lacrosse to discuss how university clubs can implement different techniques to push the future of lacrosse forward.
-
Currently a qualified women's lacrosse umpire.
Other stuff
-
I achieved the Deans' Award for my first two years of study.
-
I completed my silver futures award.
-
Gave Bunty a D-pole.
-
Created the Derby Dragons logo to establish a brand for the future.
Aims
-
Continue to create a great environment for our members by being a friendly face around the club.
-
Advocate for members in committee and union settings.
-
Source a club camera for recording home games so we can do frequent film sessions where we can analyse tactics and performance.
-
Provide classroom sessions early on in the year for freshers to quickly get up to speed with the sport and how we plan to play.
-
Motivate players to want to be the best they can be and put in the effort required to get there.
-
Continue to build the club through recruitment and incorporate freshers into an environment where, as a team, we have the desire to improve on our successes this season.
