Phoebe Nicholls

My name is Phoebe, I am 20 years old and am currently in my 1st year studying criminology, I have been part of the derby ravens for a year now and have been a member of the comp, stunt and pep team.

I have always been very involved with sports and done over 30 in the last 18 years, including dance, gymnastics, football, rugby, trampolining, netball, cross country and many more. I am always eager to get involved and push myself to be the best I can be. Being so active in sports growing up has made me a very confident and sociable person, I am easy to talk to and have no issue taking charge in important situations.

I think I would make a great charity officer as I have a lot of experience with both running and being involved with charity organisations. Charity has always been a big part of my life and would love help encourage others to do the same and make the next years charity events the best they can be. With this role comes a lot of responsibility which I feel I am more than capable of fulfilling; I am hard working and am always striving to achieve the best. I have done a lot of charity work over the years, such as painting and rebuilding the garden for a primary school for NCS, interviewing local people to raise money for mental health awareness for my Rotary Youth Leadership Award, sponsors runs and walks for diseases like cancer, I've now donated my hair 5 times to the little princess trust, I've participated in many bake sales and organised school fairs to raise money for either our school or a charity of our choice, I've volunteered in giving food to homeless shelters and have been a volunteer rhythmic gymnastics coach for my DofE award.

Charity has always been an important issue for me and I think I could bring a lot to this role with the skills and confidence I have gained from my past experience and hopefully encourage others to be more involved.

Being a raven has helped me massively with my mental health and has allowed me to meet amazing people and have incredible experiences I will always remember. My goal is to make sure the next year is just as special for everyone else on the team and do everything I can make the ravens charity events more memorable than ever.
