I believe that I am the right fit for the Occupational Therapy Treasurer role for this society to work towards providing an open and honest OT society which is able to make a positive impact for its members and the wider societies within Derby University. I have past experience working with a local community charity managing all aspects of the internal workflows and cashflow. I’m always looking for a new challenge and believe that as treasurer I would be able to open the society to potential partnerships and events to grow membership of the society and awareness about what we do as a whole across the university and the community at large.
Working across the wider society leadership team we would aim to grow membership and negotiate sponsorships with local and community partners. As an individual who strives to embody positive communications, I’d aim to provide a transparent treasury service for the society, maintaining an open-door policy for all goings-on in relation to fees, events, activities and suggestions from our members. Publishing an annual budget and working with the team and members to plan OT events and fun activities which would aim to strengthen the bonds of the OT student community and demonstrate the positive impact which we all have. Focused on a successful administration of the OT society with the leadership team we would aim to negotiate grants, keep record and prove how we are a successful society with accountable leadership and management.
Overall, I’d aim to provide an open and honest treasury role whilst growing the society with the rest of the team, and as treasurer I’d hope to make this as successful as possible.
