Hey, I'm Dan pin, I have been playing at derby uni for 3 years now so it's fair to say I like lacrosse. I'm also from Manchester so you might say lacrosse is in my blood and I barely ever mention it so you probably wouldn't have known.
I was the lacrosse kitmanager in the 2019-2020 year and so have a good understanding as to how committee operates. Although I have not run a training session although I have a good idea as to how they are ran as well as what I think can be done to improve our teams game readiness.
During my time in the mens team we have come close to winning something both of our years of Bucs play and im determined for us to win something before I leave.
Some of the things I would like to change/add to achieve this are:
-Bringing back third optional training sessions, sunday training has notoriously low numbers, another session would make optional training sessions more accessible.
-Prioritising of individual stick skills and fitness, this would consist of repetative circuits on optional training days. I think this would be very helpful to players as individual footwork, catching under pressure and playing under fatigue are skills we are currently lacking.
-Optional training routine for players if they cannot make optional training days. This would consist of exercises that you can perform without a gym membership as well as stretching... This would be optional but strongly encouraged.
-More friendly games. These games will be recorded in some way as a way to prepare for league/cup games .
-Tuesday training will be purely tactics and or game situations to take advantage of sams time.
-If players do not train in some way outside of Tuesday training they cannot play... Fitness is key to lacrosse, our poor fitness is one of the key reasons as to why we lost this year!
