Secretary Manifesto

Hi I’m Jade Hyam-Jones, currently I’m a second year studying human biology. I’ve only joined the club this year due to coronavirus last year, joining I was a bit nervous. But have grown to love and feel fully included and wish to help carry this on for next year’s freshers.

Why should I be secretary?

I feel my good organisation skills will allow me to make sure that all paper work and emails regarding umpires, pitches and risk assessments are completed for all the teams promptly. I believe I will be able to successfully deal with any problems or concerns that any committee or club member has. Also, making sure to have good communication between committee members will help make the society work as efficiently as it can, with considerable focus on the new mixed committee so it can run smoothly. Furthermore, aiding to make sure my ability in prioritising that the aims of the club are met. Additionally, my communication skills will be necessary when corresponding with the Union to organise or resolve any issues as well as getting any approvals when needed.

Being an active and reliable member means I’m also able to step up at short notice if the club requires it. As well as helping me to build relationships with the current girl’s hockey team which will hopefully be built on for new freshers as well with the boy’s team to bring us closer as a club. This will help to communicate any changes. I believe I’m approachable and friendly, so if any member needs support or help with any worry I’m willing to help.

I’m fully committed to making the club as successful and enjoyable to all members, aiming to continue to grow in the coming year as your secretary.
