PGR Chair Manifesto of Nicola Lambert
As PGR chair I intend to represent the views of PGR students and advocate for our needs.
I am an active member of the University research community, keen to develop the Doctoral College and associated activities. I believe that the PGR community can be strengthened by the development of a colligate environment. This can only be achieved by strong communication between PGR students, our supervisors and other staff.
The University of Derby is determined to develop its research reputation and the current PGR cohort is a huge part of that. As such we are highly valued students, each with a valid contribution to make. We can help to shape the future of the PGR student experience and the research output of the university.
To this end, a PGR council will be formed representing each College. We will meet regularly to discuss needs of PGR students and plan matters to take to the UIRC.
As PGR chair I would love to see the re-development of the PGR society with a range of social activities for PGR students to give us the space to get to know each other and network within our community.
I am excited to be able to represent us as Postgraduate Research Students at this exciting time in the research lifecycle of the University of Derby.
