The Union of Students exists to represent your academic/social interests and are responsible for the academic representation structure at the University. Students just like you elect over 500 Programme and College Reps each year to represent you. Their job is to work closely with Scarlet Moss, the Union’s Vice-President (Education), to identify any student issues or needs and represent the student voice at the highest meetings at the University. Representation makes the student voice extremely powerful. It is the job of all students to have a voice, then of the reps (with the support of the union) to make sure that voice is heard.
During the week there will be reps based in communal spaces promting representation and gathering your feedback. On Wednesday 28th November we will be holding the annual rep conference at the Kedleston road campus. All are welcome to join us for student voce gathering activities in the atrium 9.30am-10.45, to tune in and pose questions to the university leadership team via the union facebook live (1-2.50pm) or at the 'College Wars' quiz to see which college are the smartest!
If you do now know who your rep is you can find out via the link. If there is no rep listed for your programme please contact your programme leader or leaders to make sure your voice is heard. #knowyourrep #changewithus #representyourinterests
