Recently, across England and elsewhere, hundreds of St George's and Union Jack Flags have been put up in towns and cities and even on Motorways and Main Roads. To some, these are well-meaning demonstrations of national pride; however, these flags carry an entirely different message to others.

Initially, many of these flags were put up to celebrate the Lionesses in the Euros. Then they were taken further by the Weoley Warriors and many others, who put the flags up and stated that they wanted to show the country how proud they were of our history, freedoms, and achievements. However, the sight of all of these flags across England has caused anxiety and concern for some, as historically both the St George's flag and the Union Jack flag have been used as symbols by the far-right political movement, and by those who have been very vocally voicing concerns regarding immigration control within the UK.
