Permanent lockers for commuting staff and students

    Passed
There is little/no permanent lockers for commuting to Derby Uni (kedleston road). This makes it hard and deters staff and students commuting as they have to haul all of there wet gear around for the day. Therefore, to encourage and support the universities ethos of limited car usage and a healthy lifestyle, permanent lockers would make the commute much more easier and should encourage many more. This will also be safer as they can store books and folders which reduces the weight they carry

11:23am on 25 Sep 17 I think this is a great idea - it really encourages both staff and students to commute in, which is good for their health as well as the environment. It would be good to have somewhere safe and secure to put kit in, especially if it is raining.

8:25am on 8 Nov 17 Absolutely. Would love there to be more lockers, carrying around my laptop and books inbetween lectures is a heavy and bulbous task!

11:09am on 30 Sep 18 I know Im kinda late to this. But I'd really like it. I commute and hauling around my coat, etc can get really difficult, especially all day. Hopefully this will actually get put in place, because at the moment. Its my biggest issue. (Backpains are a joy!)

8:38am on 9 Oct 18 Everyday I commute to the university, as there isn't yet any permanent lockers, it means that I have to haul all my books I require for studying as well as all other essentials. As I commute by bike, this adds up to a lot of weight and results in me having to suffer from various physical side effects. By having lockers in place, it means i could keep gear here at the university and would make not only mine but others' commute a lot more safe and enjoyable during the grim winter months. Also this has 34 votes and why has this still not been acted upon? Its unacceptable.

4:47am on 7 Nov 19 I'm a student commuter and have to set off really early in the morning to catch my bus - when it's been raining I've had to sit in wet clothes until they dry. ( Some days I'm on site from 9am - 7pm due to lectures). Lockers would be great at OFGS too, a change of clothes could be kept dry, there'd be no need to lug a heavy wet bag around all day. If you have morning and afternoon lectures you can't really go out for lunch unless you carry your heavy, wet things everywhere with you. Massive vote on this one from me

4:52pm on 12 Dec 19 This item has been passed! Though it will take time it has been fed into the new estates strategy. In the mean time lockers are available in the sports centre.
