UniBus Service Increase During Morning Peak

    Passed
During the morning Peak it has been increasingly difficult to travel on the Uni bus service from Derby city centre to the main University campus at Kedleston Road and also from other university sites due to major overcrowding on some Unibus services. At times it is frustrating when you are unable to travel on the The service that is currently on the contract by the University for students in order for us to arrive on time into university however a recent buses have been extremely overcrowded late and at times have not run this is clearly unacceptable. In addition to this the current smartcard system is causing some delays on the services as drivers currently struggle with the smartcards and getting used to them and additional proposal to this would be the reintroduction of a paper ticket or contacts for students to use until the issues with the smart card system has been resolved after the trial process has been completed.

6:04pm on 8 Jan 16 Agreed ! Also the buses tend to skip some of the routes in order to get back on time if they are running late. Many times I have been waiting for the bus in the late afternoon and it hasn't even turned up because of this. Every time I have used the bus to get to the train station in the evening it has been at least 10 minutes late because of rush hour traffic. Bus Service should take into account the traffic at peak times and change the time table accordingly.
